What is Houzz?
According to founders Adi and Alon, Houzz is a platform for home remodeling and design, bringing homeowners and home professionals together in a uniquely visual community.
Who is it for?
Anyone! Both homeowners and home professionals can use Houzz for a variety of reasons. Whether you are a professional who wants to help clients visualize or a homeowner looking to plan out your home, there is something for everyone. Houzz helps shrink the intimidation factor of a showroom, answers important questions, and gets you one step closer to the home of your dreams.
How do I get started?
Whether you are a social media guru and are up to date on all of your technology platforms or you need a little guidance, Houzz starts with creating a login. You can set up an account with an email address or connect it to your Facebook account if that already exists. Having your own profile on Houzz makes it easy to save all of your ideas in one place and connect with other homeowners and professionals on the site.

This is where the fun starts because the possibilities with Houzz are endless. Below, we've laid out some of the areas of the site, what they offer and how to use them:
Photos
With over 6 million home design photos, the more specific you are, the better. You can search and sift through hundreds of photos based on exactly what you are looking for. Categorize your results by room, style, size, price and location. Instead of searching "mirror" narrow down your search to "framed mirror above marble bathroom countertop." This will yield you more results that are geared toward what you are looking for rather than spending time clicking through irrelevant photos. When you see something you like, put your cursor over the image. It will prompt you to add the photo to what is called an "Ideabook." These are places you can save photos you want to look at later and take notes about what you like and don't like about that particular picture. Even if you only like one element of the photo, save it! Sometimes, knowing what you don't like is just as helpful as knowing what you do like.
Find Pros
This section is super powerful when it comes to looking for the right professional to help you with any task regarding your home or home-to-be. Search for architects, home builders, interior designers, remodelers and landscapers. The search categories get extra specific, which is helpful when you know exactly what you are looking for.
Shop
Already know what you want? Perfect! Search for it in the shop section and order it right away. Browse everything from electronics to pet supplies, lighting to storage, and organization. If you're not sure about an item, you can save it to look at later. Save a few items at a time if you can't decide! You can check out and purchase your items directly on the Houzz site.
Kitchen, Bath, Bedroom, Living, Outdoor, Lighting & Decor
Search for photos, products, and pros for each of these areas of the home. You can search for these items in the top search bar or click on a more narrowed category if you already know what area you are looking for something in.
