4 Ways to Maximize Your Community's Facebook Page

By Star Report 2 min read

Facebook recently announced, that as of this month, approximately 1.65 billion users manage a profile on their platform. Though often thought of as a place for selfie sharing and status rants, this popular website has also transformed the way businesses market themselves online. Builder websites are the perfect place to give prospects a plethora of information and a great first impression, but Facebook is another great way to make your individual community stand out. Make your community's Facebook page shine with these four best practices:

1. Create memorable campaigns.

As an integral part of our day-to-day lives, social media has become more than just a way to share what you ate for dinner. Creating a contest or campaign is a great way to acquire and engage subscribers of your professional page. Whether it's urging homeowners to post a picture of their favorite part of the community for the chance to win a gift card, or actively planning how you're going to market a certain referral program, a well-developed Facebook campaign can be one of the best tools for driving traffic to your page and, ultimately, through your doors.

2. Advertise!

If you're a Facebook user, you're likely familiar with the site's ad bar in the right-hand corner. Advertising with Facebook not only increases engagement but allows you to target a set audience filtered by age, location, interests, and education. Use these ads to promote your community and reach out to those specific to your target consumer group.

3. Promote your posts.

Promoting your post is another way of making users aware of your presence. Purchasing a 'promotion' allows you to place your post at the top of your subscribers' newsfeed. It increases reach and can assist you in marketing a community event, builder incentive, or grand opening.

4. Utilize visitor posts.

Are residents or Realtors posting pictures from a community event? Posts submitted to your Facebook page will automatically be located in the Visitor Post side-bar of your profile. Ensure your settings allow you to manually share the posts of your choosing onto your page. These posts can often promote the lifestyle of your community and act as a virtual homeowner or prospect testimonials.
