New Home Star Donates Over $10,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation Through Annual 5K Race

Chicago, IL (November 6, 2025) — On October 26 and 27, 2025, New Home Star held its sixth annual National GEM Run, a 5K initiative to promote wellness and support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, New Home Star employees, friends, family, and builder partners participated in a four-week GEM Run training program leading up to the event. With every mile logged, New Home Star donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Together, participants logged nearly 3,263 miles, resulting in a record-breaking donation of $10,500.

“Every year, I’m blown away by the heart our people bring to this event,” says New Home Star Senior Vice President Keith McKinney. “From the miles logged to the stories shared, the GEM Run is a reflection of our company’s culture, and what it looks like when generosity takes motion.”

This annual initiative stems from New Home Star’s Giving Every Moment (GEM) Project, a company-wide volunteer and service program dedicated to fulfilling one of the organization’s core values: giving in meaningful ways. Throughout the challenge, participants tracked their miles and shared progress updates through New Home Connect™, the company’s proprietary home builder software platform.
