Chicago, IL (October 30, 2026) — From October 1 through 25, 2026, New Home Star held its seventh annual National GEM Run, a company-wide initiative to promote wellness and support environmental conservation. Throughout the 25-day challenge, New Home Star employees, friends, family, and builder partners nationwide were encouraged to complete 25 miles in 25 days, promoting healthier habits while helping protect the waterways that sustain our communities.
Together, participants logged an impressive 2,522 miles and raised $8,000 for American Rivers, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring rivers across the United States.
“What makes the GEM Run so special is how it brings everyone together, from our teammates and their families to our builder partners,” says Erin Henderson, Director of Communications and Engagement. “This year, every mile represented an opportunity to build healthier habits while supporting American Rivers and its mission to protect the waterways that sustain our communities.”
This annual initiative stems from New Home Star's Giving Every Moment (GEM) Project, a company-wide volunteer and service program dedicated to fulfilling one of the organization's core values: giving in meaningful ways. Throughout the challenge, participants tracked their miles and shared progress updates through New Home Connect™, the company's proprietary home builder software platform.
This year's GEM Run brought a renewed focus on environmental stewardship, encouraging participants to make a positive impact on both their personal well-being and the natural resources that support communities nationwide.
